I was snooping around at Cost Plus/World Market last week and found the wonderful hot cocoa mixes they make every holiday season. This one caught my eye and made me think of a great little Halloween treat for my nephew. I mean what kid wouldn’t love “bloody hot cocoa”?!
As shown, the cocoa packets are actually Red Velvet flavor, but the thought of a Dracula-themed treat sent me off on a creative tangent.
I used Avery 2″ x 4″ labels, and created a printable for you here. If you’re buying the labels, look for Avery 8163 or 5163. They’re just a hair smaller than the printed package label, but c’est la vie.
Just a note: when I mixed my cocoa, it wasn’t as “blood red” as I wanted… a couple drops of red food coloring liquid (not the paste, it won’t dissolve) brought it up to a vampire-worthy hue.
Special thanks to The Graphics Fairy for the skull and crossbones image.
